Welcome to Bangkok

We made it!  12+ hrs. from LA, stop over in S. Korea where we saw a lot of snow on the ground,  then a little over 5 hrs. to warm balmy Bangkok.  Thai Airways was excellent and immediately noticed the warmth and friendliness of the Thai people. Cabi to our hotel knew some English and was sweet. Hotel was cozy, nice and inviting and shower and a bed felt amazing.  Today we went to the Khlong Toey market just down the street a ways-walking through a beautiful park to get there. Instead of pics of the pretty park, we thought you'd enjoy the pig heads saying hello and the fresh meat hanging near the construction site;).   I will say the market was an amazing sight and lived up to all that I had envisioned from tales of others and the guide books. People everywhere and lots of those Thai smiles. Saw beautiful flowers, fruits, fried everything, fresh seafood, soups in huge bowls, curries, "fish snacks", and folks cooking and selling away.  Little Thai men were feverishly unloading huge trucks of all these fresh ingredients and items to display and sell. Wish I had more pics of this to share, but they are on my camera. Julia and I are now headed for a 2 hr. Thai message for $16 and then a dip in our rooftop pool;). Everything is cheap cheap cheap!  Room is only $80/night. Living like queens in Bangkok so far-what an interesting city-cant wait to see more!  We meet up w/ our tour group Feb. 9th for some wat viewing and a canopy tour.
